The Company

		Rita Fryer and Barbara Wood, who together founded The Property Finders in 2003, have a total of 30 years experience in the property market in Spain. Both had considerable experience as real estate agents and it was Rita who first spotted that buyers’ interests were never fully taken into account by estate agents who, after all, work for the seller. In 1992 she established Property Network International which was probably the first specialist property search consultancy in Spain, working only and exclusively for the property buyer.


Barbara Wood was working as an estate agent in Marbella from 1983 and managed the Costa del Sol office of Knight Frank from 1989. Returning to the UK in 2000 she noticed that specialist property finding services had become much more common in the UK during the 1990's, as time-poor buyers realised the benefits of employing their own agent to find property. Barbara was sure there would be a demand for a similar service for property buyers in Spain and when she met Rita Fryer, who had always intended to expand her service to other areas in Spain, The Property Finders was established. What are The Property Finders objectives? The Property Finders is a service company, established to provide our clients with professional, independent advice for the search and acquisition of exactly the right property: be it a second home, relocation, investment or commercial property. We have nothing to sell. Please do not ask us for a property list! We provide a personal service for property buyers, going that extra mile to help them make the right choices. We put integrity and impartiality at the heart of what we do. Our objective is to expand our network to all the most interesting destinations in Europe. Many prospective property buyers know they can achieve more by appointing a property search consultant, but don’t necessarily know how to find one. We are continually striving to increase public awareness of our name and services. As The Property Finders network expands, there will be an ever increasing choice of destinations, each offering a professional, independent property expert to help buyers match their specific needs to the right destination. We are not a franchise. Who does what at The Property Finders? Rita lives in Catalonia and looks after all property searches in an area from the Pyrenees in the north to Tarragona in the south, including vibrant Barcelona. She also has a satellite office in Madrid which specialises in relocation to the Spanish capital and surrounding area. Barbara manages the head office in the UK, travelling throughout the country to meet buyers. Her region is Andalucía, where she spends about 10 days per month searching for properties throughout the province and accompanying buyers on their property viewing trips.
